Had a good race this morning in the Wokingham Half Marathon. My time was 2 hours 38 mins. I was happy with the time as I was using it as a training run. It was 6 minutes slower than my PB. I started too fast and so after 1 km I immediately slowed down till I settled down and got into my rhythm. Then after 5 miles I felt good and so sped up a bit. I did 10 miles in 1 hour 58 mins but then for the last 3 miles we turned the corner into the wind and rain, and so I eased up a bit; especially as I knew I would be outside my PB. The Wokingham is pleasant run but needs a drinks sponsor, as you can’t drink out of cups and need bottles at the drinks station. I wish it took you through the town centre too. I had a bit of pain from my adductor muscle injury but it seems to be settling down now.

Don’t know if they had them, but didn’t get any sort of pack at the finish, with any energy bars, drinks in etc, which would have come in handy. Fancied a warm drink as well as was cold and wet, but with only one drink station, queue was too long…moan over 🙂 On the plus side though is a pleasant run!
