Well with a week to go it was time for another taper run. I decided on driving to Sonning and a scenic run along the Thames. The temperature was 22.5 C and so I thought it might help train me for the marathon, in case it’s hot on to the day. I started the run and was immediately concerned as my throat was sore and the kids had been coughing all day. But after a couple of miles it settled down. I decided on a london bound route which wasn’t the best decision as the path was rugged and after a 1.5 miles I turned round as the last thing my knees needed was extra stress coping with the ground or a twisted ankle. Running towards Reading was much better and soon I was back on a better path and making progress. The run was nice and I escaped injury free. 7 days to go.
